Texas Burlesque Festival!

Did I mention that I am going to be popping my Texas Burlesque Festival cherry this coming Thursday? I'm so excited that I'm also anxious!

Nerves are a big part of the performer package. Everyone gets them and if they say they don't they're either a.) lying or b.) don't normally get nervous about ANYTHING.

Trust me, I've been going out and performing in front of people since I was 3, I would know a thing or two. Anyways, please send me good vibes while I prepare for this performance.

Oh and recently, I did a shoot with Halo and the shots turned out great. Nevermind that it was freezing outside and drizzling. He was awesome and I definitely suggest checking out his stuff.

Here's a teaser:

Getting Ready for Texas Burlesque Festival!

First of all, I want to thank those who came out to my last two shows: Jerry Fedora's Behind the Red Door and Bewitching Burlesque's The 70's Show. Both were great! I met a lot of fabulous new gals and I got to try out my routine for Texas Burlesque Festival. Once I can locate some pictures, I'll definitely post a recap.

As for next weekend, April 22 - 24, I'll be performing at the Texas Burlesque Festival. I'll be joining some other newcomers on Thursday night's Nouveau Nuit including my fellow Dallasite Iris Le Mour (who I will also be performing with at La Divina Productions' Nouvelle Burlesque Revue).

I'll be doing my pointe piece at TXBF so be sure to catch it if you're in town!

All Con Recap and April Has a Lot in Store

Well, I think that there comes a day once in every young geek's life where she gets to go to a con. My very first con ever was All Con 2010 in Addison, TX!

I had the lovely opportunity to help out La Divina Productions with panty wrangling and I even got to perform a number! We were even featured on the local NBC website! Before the show, Cora Coquette and I wandered around the convention floor and got silly. Then afterward, we all hung out at the numerous parties going on in the hotel. Here are some pictures:

Then, I'll April 10, I'll be performing in Bewitching Burlesque's 70's Show!

Finally, the big Texas Burlesque Festival is April 22nd - 24th. I'll be performing Thursday night (April 22) for Nouveau Nuit.

So exciting!

Nervous

Yes, Burlesque performers get nervous. However, my nervousness is over something new. I'm embarking on a new endeavor and I really hope I don't flop and fail miserably.

In other news, please keep your fingers crossed for my Texas Burlesque Festival application.

More details to come...

Recap: Dallas Burlesque Festival 2010

First of all, Happy Valentine's Day! (or Singles Awareness Day or Anna Shaw Howard Day or Greeting Card Holiday!)

Well, it's been a week since the Dallas Burlesque Festival and I am still in an afterglow. If you missed it, you definitely missed a lot! It was my first time performing in a festival and I felt so honored to be a part of it all. It was like being a part of Dallas history, honestly.

To see a video of my performance check the Pegasus News article (I'm the second act in the video, after Bombshell Burlesque).

Anyways, on a different note, I'm going to go against my better judgment and introduce the internet to my donation button:

I need to buy new pointe shoes for my routine that I (hopefully) will be taking to the Texas Burlesque Festival. I can't really offer you anything in exchange. I was thinking maybe I could sell you space on the bottom of my new pointe shoes. Or I could sign something or I could just "owe you a favor." I don't want to beg so I'm just going to leave this up and leave this on my blog's side bar but anyways, thanks in advance if you donate! And if not, don't worry about it. I'm the queen of jerry-rigging shoes that fall apart (consequence of being a college dance major) so hopefully they'll make it until I can afford to buy a new pair.

Anyways enough of that, feel free to check out this AWESOME shot Sarah Cate Photography got of me from the Friday night show of the Dallas Burlesque Festival.
